MIAMI-MANAUS : Depart from Miami for Manaus "Capital of the Amazon". Arrive and transfer to hotel selected. | | Day 2 | At Sea | WED. MANAUS-CRUISE : Morning departure to board the M/V Clipper - a typical 3 deck river boat with 8 double cabins (air conditioned), each with private shower and toilet. All meals are buffet style. The boat will cruise down the Negro River and its tributaries for some bird watching. At night, briefing on the Amazon Region and next day activities. (L, D) | | Day 3 | At Sea | THU. RIVER CRUISE : Today, the boat will cruise the Anavilhanas Archipelago for a canoe trip through the lagoon and creeks. Time to observe the flora and fauna of the area, then visit the village of Novo Airao. (BB, L, D) | | Day 4 | At Sea | FRI. RIVER CRUISE : Visit to a Caboclo house to see at first hand what life is about in this part of the rain forest. Afternoon will be dedicated to a jungle walk and some bird watching. (B, L, D) | | Day 5 | Manaus | SAT. CRUISE-MANAUS : After breakfast, you will see "The Meeting of the Waters" where the Negro River and its black waters meet the brown waters of the Amazon River. Arrive Manaus and transfer to your hotel. (B) | | Day 6 | Manaus | SUN. MANAUS : Half day private sightseeing tour of Manaus - bustling city in the depths of the Amazon jungle. Then, a visit to the imposing Opera House, where the immortal Enrico Carusso performed. You will also visit the regional Indian Museum. (BB) | | Day 7 | Manaus | MON. MANAUS : At leisure to explore Manaus on your own and see the beautiful buildings from the rubber boom era (1890-1902). (BB) | | Day 8 | Manaus | TUE.
